Day 2
Early in the morning, I woke up at around 5am the sky was still dark, I guess my body clock still hasn't adjust to the time yet. So I had a comfy hot bath enjoying my alone time in the room. Packed my stuff getting ready for breakfast and leave for Cairo. Had some additional time, while waiting for the others at the lobby, I've took some pictures. The hotel has put up some pretty nice Christmas deco.
Arrived at Cairo, claimed our luggage and off we go. Our first destination wasn't the hotel... sadly yes I'm all tired trying to pull that luggage contained 2 people's clothes and with 2 hand carry and carried all by myself... grumpiness shown but then once I step out of the airport the weather actually helped weee it's cold :)
We headed to The Saladin Citadel of Cairo also known as the Mosque of Mohamed Ali. I was like wow... okay a mosque. My face was like this --> {-_-}|| Alright time for some history lesson. The Citadel was fortified by the Ayyubid ruler Salah-Al-Din (Saladin <-- I called it sardin hu / fish sardin hehehe) around 1176-1183 CE/AD to protect from the Crusaders. They were still building the wall of Saladin even long after his death. Later in the years, Mohamed Ali built a mosque in memory of his son and also an effort to erase the symbol of the Mamluk dynasty which he replaced. Then he actually stayed in there and when he died he was buried within the mosque itself. Till date the mosque was still in used for prayers.
Oh not to mentioned, my sista and I were like some kind of celebrities to them. Their people acted like they never seen Asians. They kept asking where we from and yeah we answered all sorts like we're from Korea, Hong Kong, sometimes I just said no to everything... once a while I said Malaysia. XD They kept requesting us to take pictures with them swt~! You know we don't speak their language and they kept going on and on... it's kind of annoying! Now I know how celebrity feels when the paparazzi like a group of flies chasing them around.

Then we moved forward to the highlights of the day! The Egyptian Museum which contains the finest display of artifacts, relics, statues, jewelry from all of the Pharoahs Reigns and not to forget the Royal Mummies Room. I meet some real mummies here forget to ask for 4D number XD Sad news is no camera allowed in the Museum because the need to protect the artifacts and the body of the mummies. The most famous King in Discovery Channel King Tutankhamun or Amen-tut-ankh's artifacts, relics & his famous mummy gold mask is being placed here. He died pretty young at the age of 18years old. Some said he was killed. Some said he killed himself so he could be God in his afterlife. He is famous simply because the only tomb found covered with gold coffin, gold mask and gold everything. I guess he really love gold. I mean who doesn't. I've also seen King Tuthmosis I,II,III's real mummified body. Er... real life experience is kind of cool. I've seen the famous Ramses II as well. He is like wah OLD when he died at the aged of 90years old but you can still see his white hair growing which turn yellowish due to the spices used during mummification. He is the longest ruler back in ancient times and one of his primary wive known as Queen Nefertari (She's from a Nubian tribe and her name meaning the beautiful one has come). He had over 100 children I can't remember how many to be exact. Shows how great and powerful he was back in his time. This is one of the best experience I had been through the entire trip. Too bad darling wasn't here he sort of missed this once in a life time opportunity.

After the amazing visit, we were all tired and hungry... the museum was pretty big walk until leg patah... so makan time! According to the itinerary, we're suppose to have our dinner on a cruise ship. However, it's still early when we reached there. Everyone were like grumpy monsters with empty stomach waiting around for the cruise to prepare the buffet dinner. Dad, his friends and my uncle (my dad's cousin) were having their drinking session outside while waiting. Sista and I were busy fooling around with our cameras cam whoring.
During the buffet dinner, there were some belly dance & some Arabic dance something like Rumi (a guy turning non-stop holding some stuff it's like some Turkish dance or something) sorry don't know what's the name of the dance. The food ahhh... I thought it would be great but again to my disappointment except the ice-cream & the grilled lamb hehe... Apart from that, the other foods were again either too salty or too sweet.
After our dinner, we got onto our bus and headed to the hotel. Took us about 45mins due to the heavy traffic in Cairo. We call it for a day... everyone were exhausted and yes I got a room by myself weeee~!
